Long Exposure

Long exposure photography is a technique that uses slow shutter speeds (typically seconds or minutes) to capture the effect of time passing in a single image. This technique can create stunning visual effects like silky smooth waterfalls, light trails from moving vehicles, star trails in the night sky, or ghostly moving clouds. It transforms scenes with movement into dreamlike or surreal images that the human eye cannot naturally see. Photographers typically use tripods to keep the camera steady during the extended exposure time, and may employ neutral density (ND) filters to reduce light entering the lens, allowing for longer exposures even in bright conditions. The contrast between sharp, stationary elements and blurred, moving elements creates a compelling visual tension in long exposure images.
